Ministry of Road Transport and Highways releases list of incentives, disincentives under Vehicle Scrapping Policy

New Delhi [India], October 6 (ANI): The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued a list of incentives and disincentives pertaining to the Vehicle Scrapping Policy on Tuesday.These incentives and disincentives mixed are geared toward encouraging the automobile house owners to discard their previous and polluting autos having larger upkeep and gasoline consumption prices.”As an incentive, there shall be waiver of the payment for difficulty of certificates of registration for a brand new automobile, bought in opposition to the authority of the Certificate of Deposit (CoD) issued by a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility for a automobile being scrapped,” learn the press assertion by the ministry.The disincentives embrace: 1). Increase within the payment for conducting health check and renewal of health certificates for motor autos greater than 15 years previous. 2). Increase within the health certification payment for transport autos greater than 15 years previous. 3). Increase within the renewal of registration payment for private autos (non-transport autos) greater than 15 years previous.Presenting the Union Budget 2021-22, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1 introduced a voluntary automobile scrapping coverage to section out previous and unfit autos under which the non-public autos will endure a health check in automated centres after 20 years whereas the business autos will endure the check after 15 years.
