A busy mum has managed to lose five stone after struggling to stay in shape after the births of her three children in three successive years.Felicity Broadgate, 31, struggled to find the time to exercise and eat well after three pregnancies in quick succession took their toll on her body. However, the mum from Cheshire has managed to drop three dress sizes after discovering a game changing app that allows her to manage workouts around her busy life.Fitness app POW8R offers training, advice and support to its community of online users of all abilities and goals, and is one of the main reasons behind Felicity’s remarkable transformation.“I’ve always been an active person and keen on exercise, but it’s very difficult to maintain that when you’re pregnant and raising young children,” Felicity said.“My focus was on raising my young family rather than looking after myself, and my weight suffered as a result. I found it difficult to keep on track with healthy eating and it simply wasn’t possible for me to find the time to go to the gym to do the workouts I wanted.“When I was heavier, I felt sluggish and I wasn’t happy with how I looked, so I was always determined to get back into shape as soon as I could.”However, since discovering POW8r, Felicity has been able to fit in her workouts around her hectic schedule and learned more about the nutritional side of living healthily.“I started in September last year and I have now lost five stone and feel so much better. I have more energy and I love having an active and healthy lifestyle again.“It’s not easy to lose weight but the key is to be consistent, not let the inevitable bad days take you completely off track and keep your mind focussed on the end goal.”Felicity first saw her weight begin to rise after the births of her daughters Valentina, 4, and Ilaria, 3, with just over three months between Valentina’s birth and the beginning of the second pregnancy. The birth of her son, Alessandro, 1, came soon after with Felicity weighing 13 stone 7lbs and wearing a dress size 12.Felicity attributes her weight gain to snacking on crisps, chocolate and cake, as well as consuming large portion sizes during meals. In September 2022 Felicity signed up to POW8R’s online fitness classes and nutritional guidance, and now over a year later she weighs eight stone 8lbs and wears a dress size six.Additional inspiration to cut her unhealthy lifestyle came from when Felicity lost her father on Boxing Day last year. She added: “When I lost my dad, I remember thinking how I wanted to be fit and healthy not only for me but for my kids as well and that’s one of the things that has kept me consistent.“Exercise helps me feel great mentally and physically and it definitely helps me with the demands of having three children under four years of age. I get up at 6am to either do a run or an online class before the kids wake up and it gives me so much more energy to get through the day and juggle work and family life.“I do classes four days per week and do runs on two other days, and I’m more conscious of the nutritional side of things now too.“My advice to anyone trying and struggling to lose weight is that consistency is absolutely key and that small changes to your diet and lifestyle can make a big difference over time.”Cal Webb, Felicity’s personal trainer at POW8R, said: “Felicity deserves all the credit in the world for her incredible achievement and we are so proud of her.“It can be difficult to balance the demands of being a new mum with keeping in shape, but combining healthy eating with regular exercise is the best way to lose weight.“Online classes can make a real difference for people who are short on time and aren’t able to head to the gym for a few hours.“And adding nutritional guidance to a tailored exercise plan can give you all the tools you need to achieve your fitness goals.”
